Advanced treatment for non-healing wounds.
When a wound from an accident, disease or infection isn’t healing on its own, proper wound care can save life and limb.
A wound that does not heal for 30 days or more is considered a chronic wound. Five million Americans will suffer from chronic wounds this year, with circulation problems and diabetes being the most common culprits of these injuries. Because of the remarkable need for wound care treatment, Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas offers wound care on an inpatient and outpatient basis from a team of board-certified wound care specialists.
Wound care begins with an initial evaluation, in which our wound care team will analyze the wound, clean and irrigate it, apply a dressing, and determine medication needs. We will educate the patient on how to care for their wound and set a schedule for follow-up treatment, if needed.
