Highpoint Health Partners is dedicated to improving the well-being of our patients by providing personalized, compassionate pulmonary and sleep services. Our team offers advanced treatments for a wide range of sleep disorders, including insomnia, sleep apnea, sleepwalking and narcolepsy, as well as pulmonary problems such as asthma, COPD and shortness of breath. Our goal is to help each patient receive the care they need to sleep well and breathe easier.
Working in coordination with Highpoint Health - Sumner's sleep center, which is fully accredited by the American Academy of Medicine, we order and interpret a variety of sleep tests including diagnostic and polysomnograms, advanced titrations, multiple sleep latency and maintenance of wakefulness tests. We can order in-lab overnight sleep studies or in-home sleep testing when medically appropriate.

Sleep Disorders
We specialize in the treatment of many sleep disorders in patients ages 13 and up, including:
Sleep Apnea/Obstructive Sleep Apnea: Sleep apnea is a disorder of interrupted breathing during sleep. It is usually associated with snoring, choking or gasping, and excessive daytime sleepiness.
Hypoventilation Disorders: Hypoventilation disorders are disorders of shallow breathing during sleep, resulting in low oxygen or high carbon dioxide levels. Hypoventilation can be associated with obesity, COPD and certain neuromuscular conditions such as ALS.
Parasomnias: Parasomnias are unusual behaviors that occur during the sleep period such as sleepwalking, night terrors, confusional arousal, sleep eating disorder, REM behavior disorder and nightmare disorder.
Narcolepsy: Narcolepsy is neurologic sleep disorder of excessive daytime sleepiness and in some cases is accompanied by the involuntary loss of muscle control known as cataplexy. Cataplexy can occur with emotional stimulus such as laughter, stress, fear or anger.
Insomnia: Insomnia is a persistent inability to initiate and/or maintain sleep. Insomnia can be a result of many factors, including poor sleep habits, diet, stress, medical conditions, behavioral and mental health disorders, and even certain medications.
Pulmonary Diseases
Along with sleep disorders, we also treat pulmonary diseases. Listed here are just a few of the respiratory disorders we treat in adult patients ages 18 and older:
Asthma: Asthma is a disease of the lungs in which the airways become blocked or narrowed, causing breathing difficulty.
COPD: COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is a long-term lung disease that refers to both chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
Shortness of Breath: Shortness of breath is a common symptom of allergy, infection, inflammation, injury, or certain metabolic conditions. Most cases of shortness of breath are due to heart or lung conditions.
